Nav Camera utilizes the established navigation, augmented reality, and image processing engines from the well-known Theodolite app to introduce a new application centered on photography and video recording with data overlays. Created with meticulous attention to detail by a distinguished iOS developer, the app draws from over 15 years of development and testing expertise, enriched by practical use by professionals including surveyors, geologists, architects, engineers, competitive athletes, emergency responders, military personnel, and search and rescue teams worldwide.

Nav Camera enables users to capture photos and videos in both landscape and portrait orientations with geo-location overlays and personalized annotations. The geo-location overlays encompass details such as date, time, coordinates, altitude, GPS datum, and compass direction. These overlay data elements are continuously updated in each frame during video recording, which proves beneficial for documenting dynamic environments or conducting thorough scans. Users can input up to four lines of custom notes to be integrated into the overlay, facilitating the inclusion of job details, project titles, organizational/staff particulars, invoice numbers, or additional comments/notations. Users have the flexibility to toggle various parts of the overlay on or off as needed and can choose from multiple overlay color options.

Nav Camera caters to serious users with a range of advanced features including multiple reticles (comprising three types of crosshairs and an SLR-style focus/exposure indicator), colored lens filters for enhanced visibility in low-light settings and preservation of night vision, as well as support for various position formats such as military grid reference system (MGRS), universal transverse Mercator (UTM), British/Irish National Grids, and six latitude/longitude variations. The optional "Datum Pack" expands the app's capabilities by incorporating over 220 geodetic datums for more precise positioning and altitude calculations based on GPS data. This optional feature encompasses popular datums like NAD-27, NAD-83, OSGB-36, ED-50, along with numerous others covering regions and countries across all continents.

Discover firsthand why apps like Nav Camera and Theodolite, backed by their track record of success in the field, have been showcased in Apple Keynotes, featured in magazine articles and esteemed professional publications, and embraced by enthusiasts and professional users globally.
